Entries for March, 2008
For I did not know.
'Cause I was just a boy
And you were so much more
Than any god could ever plan,
More than a woman or a man.
And now I understand how much I took from you:
That, when everything starts breaking down,
You take the pieces off the ground
And show this wicked town
something beautiful and new.
You think that Luck
Has left you there.
But maybe there's nothing
up in the sky but air.
And there's no mystical design,
No cosmic lover preassigned.
There's nothing you can find
that can not be found.
'Cause with all the changes
you've been through
It seems the stranger's always you.
Alone again in some new
Wicked little town.
So when you've got no other choice
You know you can follow my voice
Through the dark turns and noise
Of this wicked little town.
Oh it's a wicked, little town.
Goodbye, wicked little town.
Contrary to a previous post I made about the Origin of Love, this song entitled Wicked Little Town, shows that the power is in each one of us, where as the Origin of Love states that we are tied to a destiny we cannot change. This song was made as a rebuttal to the Origin of Love, when Tommy Gnosis tried to tell Hedwig that things can change.-From the film and musical play, Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

His long fingers pressed the buttons with prodigious precision. He licked his upper lip, and his tongue stayed there, as if he was biting it. His eyebrows crossed with concentration. In a split second he paused, and he dropped the controller in his hands.
"Kevin, why did you turn the T.V. off?"
"Because dad was winning. You never let me win!"
"I'm, haha, I'm training you to become the ultimate gamer, Kev!"
Kevin grabbed a pillow from the couch and threw it on the floor. His dad picked it up, and he threw another one.
"What are you boys doing?"
"We were just playing a game, and this boy is really getting good at it."
Hilda moved from the doorstep and closed the door behind her. Kevin ran and hugged her. The boy looked at his dad and stuck his tongue out. Hilda knelt down and planted her peach-colored lips on his cheek. The boy ran his little fingers on her hair.
"Your hair stinks."
"Haha yes it does! I have to go take a shower. You go take one as well! Hurry, or you won't get spaghetti for dinner."
Kevin ran into the hallway. Hilda turned to the father.
"Marcus, he's three years old. You're 27."
"Why did you choose to color it brown?"
"Oh this?" She ran her fingers through her hair. "Don't go teasing an old lady right when she's stepped out of the parlor, Marcus. Where's your sister?"
"Out. Will I be cooking the spaghetti again then?"
"Yes, because you're a dad now. And you should cook for your wife sometimes, too."
Hilda closed the bathroom door behind her. She saw a woman staring back at her. They both stepped closer to each other. They examined their hair, dyed brown at the bodies of the strands, and moving closer to the scalp were the white roots. They wiped the peach color and revealed dry, dark lips underneath. The peach stained across the arm's well-maintained but slightly loose skin. Hilda looked closely and noticed the dark brown spot on her skin seem bigger than the month before. She looked up and the woman was staring at her still. The skin around the woman's eyes wrinkled a little, folding into crow's feet. Tears fell. Hilda felt her own tears falling.
"This is what it looks like to live almost half a century."
She stepped away from the mirror and undressed. She looked at herself once more and laughed. The door opened behind her.
"Are you okay?"
She looked and saw Marcus standing at the door.
"Do you mind?"
Hilda blushed and stepped inside the shower.
"Marcus, am I old?"
"Haha, yes you are."
"Are you okay with me being old?"
Marcus opened the shower curtains.
"You look gorgeous."
"Hey!" Hilda pushed him out and closed the curtains.
"Hilda, I love you okay? I wouldn't marry you if I didn't. Now hurry up or our son will finish all of the spaghetti."
