Soggy Biscuit and Hot Chocolate
Posted by baboysai under Baboysai's Days
I stepped into the rain with my small quivering umbrella. It was so damn cold and the rain was splashing its tiny magnitude to my feet. With enumerable raindrops, it created such an effect as to wet my toes annoyingly. I hoped it wouldn't rain when I woke up. The rain pelted on my umbrella, and miniscule droplets in the air sprayed on my skin. I was swearing and cursing all sorts of things. I wasn't enjoying it one bit. It was very uncomfortable. I wanted it to end. And the only solution I could think of was fold my umbrella and just stand there surrendering.
It made me think of Love. Rain has an amazing effect on humans.
It made me think of my Friends. We twice thought of going out in the rain and just run like crazy in the Sunken Garden.
It made me think of Macaroni Soup. Randell would like that.
It made me think of my Childhood.
I used to run and where there was a shallow puddle in the grass I'd slide. I never understood how that was possible. When I learned about skimboarding I quite got the principle.
My cousins and I went in a big group when it rained sometimes. A lightning crashed so hard we saw blue and we all got down to the ground thinking it couldn't reach us that low.
We danced what we made up as a raindance everytime we felt that the rain would stop. We didn't want it to stop even if our lips were blue.
Me and my bestfriend once stayed in our little tended garden praying the plants would grow healthy. The next day they were a bright green color and the leaves were so fat and crisp. We thought it must have worked.
A few years later when it was not a norm that 14 yr-olds should go in the rain we thought it still felt good and went for it. The boys thought it was really unladylike of us, but they joined a few minutes later when they couldn't help it.
We once went out at night when it suddenly rained and we felt no hope in running and keeping ourselves dry. My bestfriend lay down the grass and started laughing. When I tried it I could see the raindrops as it reflected the light from the houses nearby. The drops went straight at my face and eyes, and it hurt my eyes and tickled me at the same time. I began to laugh with my friend. We just kept laughing until we thought we were crazy and we decided to stop it and go home. And when I got dry from running and no rain could wet me again I'd go home and take a nice bath. Then my nanny would fix me a mug of hot chocolate with broken biscuits in it. I especially loved it when the bits got soggy.
My nanny ran away with a man who got her pregnant. I heard she became a cook in a hospital. I never saw her again.

Carl Mucho's poetry: "Na ikaw ay nangyari na sa akin" could be sung with no other words to replace them.
What really made waves was one of their first songs to sing in Kalayaan, in a songwriting contest about dorm and UP life, specifically Kalayaan. When we heard it, we were just stunned. Their music was brilliantly arranged, including twists with the harmonica, rain stick and the kubing. Four very talented people coming together to make great music: Don Zarate on Vocals, Carl Mucho on guitar, PM Deazeta on Bass, and Jaimar Palispis on Drums.
Ako'y walang kibong nakatunganga sa taas
higang kurbang pagong, umuulan sa labas
Pilit kinakamot katawang nangangati
Mistulang tagtuyo't walang tubig kasi
Bihis dalidali, may exams mamaya
Pambayad ko sa Toki, patay... nawawala.
Ako'y naiiba, sabihin sa sarili
kami'y isko't iska, estudyanteng natatangi
higit sa lahat, wag mong kalilimutan
'shteeg tayong lahat dito sa kalayaan
Bagsak ka na ba sa math 17?
wag mag-alala, tibayin ang damdamin
kahit puno ng tres, mga grado mo'y wasak
you know you're still the best, wag kang iiyak
Dahil ok lang yan, ganyan talaga
buhay kalayaan, mahirap, masaya
tubong kalai...
Kinagat ng Seben Lions folks. KN7L. One of the bands I'd love until my death. It would be cool to know they'd go national in the near future. Then I could proudly show off my autographed cd, one of the first bunch they first-ever recorded and edited with a laptop and burned to a hundred or so copies.
(in order: Dyosa, Shteeg Kalai, all by KN7L)

Omen or otherwise

Since everybody's ranting about the sem ending and work piling up, I will go with the flow at this moment and rant too. or something.
I'd first like to congratulate myself that my groupmates (Girlie and Cel) and I have finished our airport terminal design ON TIME!
And I don't think we crammed this time... cool. Special mention to Randel for finishing the 3-D model (courtesy of Maya Unlimited Ver. 6.5) in one and a half hours, enabling me to print the perspective and trace it, hehe.
- That's one final plate out of the way.
Concerning arch 24 (wood construction), I am again congratulating myself for being one of the FEW students who submitted this week's requirements completely and on time.
Yeah. - There are more details being required for next week, but with proper pacing I believe I can finish it.
So far, All I can say is "Wow nes, this is so not you!"
Hmm... About arch 57 (Building Laws 1), oh this is a pathetic story. I've slept my way to the present state that I am in. I think I have slept for two-thirds of the whole class meetings that we've had. I just can't help it. Laws can be so boring sometimes, though I know that they are super duper important, causing an architect life imprisonment if he/she wasn't careful. Or if she slept during classes like these. Gulp.
I have missed an arch 19 (World Architecture) paper before, and because I'm typing this blog entry like the world is such a happy place instead of another paper due today, I will be missing another one. hmm. I told myself last night to submit late so... I've decided. Haha.
And the cruel professors of this course being innately craving for attention, they have commanded that our final plate be a design plate!!! An individual project, if you will.

My status in arch 26 (Statics of Rigid Bodies) is...
I'm still grasping the forces and moments and the planes they act on and the external and internal systems and
........!!!! Of the three exams, I only passed one, dropped one, and didn't wake up for one. he... he.. he.Now I'm saying "Nes, you're still you..." I don't know if I'm lucky, or if these mishaps are all a sign that I'm about to... FAIL!! (Lightning crashes)
Baboysai listens to Beatles
Baboysai reads no time to finish neverwhere...
Baboysai watches Bert can't read cds!
